Anyone who’s known me for long enough would know that I have ballooned up and down in my weight for the last 10 years. I’ve been fat-fit-fat-fit-fat-fit. Honestly, my body doesn’t know if it’s coming or going sometimes.
To give you a bit of an idea of my cycle. I’d lose like 12kgs and then I’d normally manifest some kind of an illness. I’d get sick – something would happen and then I’d put the 12 kilos back on and then I’d get really unhappy with myself.
But what I’ve learned when it comes to staying healthy, fit and lean, is basically one principle.
It has to be a way of life, otherwise it is painful, because you end up going up and down, up and down, up and down. Some weeks you train, some weeks you don’t. Some days you eat good, some days you don’t. But I find when I’m in a routine where I eat really healthy my body just craves healthy foods.
When I eat healthy foods I look at a cupcake and I go, “Ooh, I’d really love to eat that”. And I take one bite and go, “Oh it tastes great but I don’t think I can eat the rest of this”.
What I’m saying in this moment, in order for you to really ascend to the highest levels of success in business it can’t just be a once in a while thing.
You can’t just focus on growing your business every once in a while. It can’t just be, “Well, I’ll do one seminar every year”.
It’s got to be something that becomes a way of life.
When your health is a way of life, what happens naturally without you having to try? You get stronger, healthier, leaner, fitter.
When your business becomes a way of life, when working on your business becomes a way of life, guess what happens naturally?
Growth. Scale. Leadership. Everything you want right now is hiding behind the way you live your life.
Because it’s one thing to go, “Yeah, I know that”. But it’s another thing to go, “Yeah, I know you know that but do you live it? Do you embody it? Do you practice it? Do you have a group of people that ensure they’re holding you to a standard where you apply it not every month, not every once in a while, every fucking day?”
Make good habits permanent.
